NRCSA Center: Benalmadena Maravillas - Benalmadena, Spain

About the NRCSA Center

Our School

The school was founded in 1976 as a private Spanish school. Two years later, the language school was opened in an independent building, only 50 meters from from the main school. The building is modern with 12 large, bright classrooms, all with air-conditioning and audio-visual facilities. There is also a library, a video room, a dining room and cafeteria, and sports grounds. Students also have access to e-mail and the internet. The school teaches foreign languages to Spaniards as well and prepares them for university exams, hence students are generally interested in conversational exchange.

Modern teaching methods and equipment are accompanied by skilled and friendly teachers and administrative staff. Teachers have been carefully selected after considering their qualifications, previous teaching experience and personalities. The "family" feeling is still the school's most important asset and the school has approximately 60 students on average, with 130 during the summer months from Europe, Asia and North America. The school is a member of AEDAV (Asociación de Agencias de Viajes de la Costa del Sol) and the founding member of AEEA (Asociación de Escuelas de Español en Andalucia).

About Benalmadena

Lying on the south end of the Iberian Peninsula, bathed by the waters of the Mediterranean and with mountains rising steeply behind the town, the Costa del Sol offers a cosmopolitan atmosphere, magnificent beaches, starkly contrasting colors, simple and primitive fishing villages, luxuriant subtropical valleys and high mountains that protect the coast from the chill of the hinterland. Benalmadena is a small town with approximately 30,000 inhabitants. It sits on a hill at the foot of the Mijas mountain range in the Malaga province. Originally a sleepy Andalucian fishing village with beautiful white washed houses, Benalmadena has developed into a small but lively town which retains it old charm and character.

The choice of a language course in Benalmadena offers two advantages: the first is that the town is small enough to provide a peaceful and secure environment, while large enough to offer good shops, restaurants, an open-air cinema, etc.. The second is the town's cultural richness and its close proximity to other fascinating cities. Those really worth visiting include Granada, with its Alhambra, surely one of the great wonders of the world, dated 1238; Cordoba, the center of Andalucian culture; and Sevilla, with its monumental cathedrals and churches.
