| Do you want to use this summer to do more than experience a foreign culture? Do you want to acquire intangible experience to add to your resume? Perhaps a foreign language study and volunteer program will meet these needs. From providing assistance in an Ecuadorian orphanage to teaching English to students in Bolivia, the opportunity to combine community service with foreign language study is available for you in a variety of locations. Programs as short as two weeks and as long as 12 weeks are available in Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Honduras, and Peru.
If you are already thinking ahead to finding work opportunities after graduation, perhaps a study and internship/work experience opportunity would be best. From hospitality management to translation to experience in other professional fields, internships are available in several NRCSA program locations when combined with language study. Programs can be chosen from Austria, Germany, Spain, and France.

| Reality: Professionals in the medical field are finding the ability to speak Spanish is more and more important - especially in certain geographic areas with denser hispanic populations. The ability to communicate with patients and other staff is crucial to getting the job done - but high school Spanish 101 isn't going to get you very far.
Reality II: The flip side is that medical professionals these days don't have the time to take off and become fluent in another language, which can take months of study in a foreign country, and many years if at all if studying at home.
Solution: Medical Spanish immersion programs abroad, tailored to help you quickly learn crucial Spanish communication skills and a cultural understanding in the context of working with patients and colleagues. With medical Spanish programs offered in an immersion setting abroad - you can combine an exciting cultural vacation - and significant medical Spanish improvement - in just 1-4 weeks.
