At about the size of Arizona or Italy, Oman is a relatively small Gulf nation, with a population of about 4 million. With its welcoming people, gorgeous scenery, and year-round sunshine, we think it's the perfect place to learn Arabic
Muscat is the most cosmopolitan city in the Sultanate of Oman and is the seat of government and international diplomatic representation. You have access to all the amenities of a small, modern city (including internet, clean food and water, modern road system, ample transportation facilities, and a modern and inexpensive health care system). Furthermore, Oman's location on the southeastern tip of the Arabian Peninsula gives you access to countries in the region (including the UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco), as well as non-Arab countries that are equally rich and interesting (e.g. Turkey, Tanzania, Kenya, India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka). Our students have taken advantage of our location to hop on a plane and explore the richness of both the Arab world as well as the Indian Ocean. We invite you to do the same!
