Semester & Academic Year Programs
A student attending classes for the first time must take a test to determine their level in the French language. The test is given on the first day of classes. Complete beginners will not take the test, but must go on the the first day to complete on-site registration.
All students have access to the multi-media resource centre, and can take part in various social and cultural activities. Thare are also intercultural meetings organized with the French students.

Subsidiary Language Courses
These courses are designed for foreign students who wish to develop their skills and knowledge in one or several specific fields, such as writing, grammar, literature, civilization, etc.

Organized on a semester basis (except for the 3rd degree which is a two-semester program)
|
|
|
•
students can make their own program according to their language level and free time
|
|
|
•
elementary and intermediate levels (initiation 2 and 3) : 6 or 8 hours a week
|
|
|
•
advanced levels (1st, 2nd and 3rd degree) : 2, 4, 6 or 8 hours a week
|
|
|
|
The subsidiary courses are at additional cost.

Admissions & Academic Credit
|
|
|
|
Students age 18 years or older (regardless of educational background, occupation or nationality) are welcome. No previous knowledge of French is required except where otherwise indicated.
Students desiring credit for their study a should contact their home school or request the NRCSA Credit Fact Sheet. Generally, U.S. schools consider 15 hours of study to be equal to 1 semester credit.

Assessment & Grading
Please note that in the French system of grading, marks range from 0 to 20. An average mark of 10/20 is the minimum required to pass. Students enrolled in European program may gain ECTS transfer credits.
