The Programs

The teaching approach is "Total Immersion", and there is no surer way to learn a language. You will be speaking Spanish from the start. Students are encouraged to stay with local families, located and supervised by the accommodation coordinators, so that academic input is reinforced by practical usage 24 hours a day. Course work is carefully structured and designed to assure rapid improvement through the most effective and modern teaching techniques. To complement the classroom work, language laboratory sessions are available to reinforce skills.
Group 15 hours per week Program Classes are three hours per day, five days a week and are loaded with up-to-date information concerning life in the Yucatan as well as general cultural knowledge about the Spanish-speaking world. Students are placed in small group classes, usually 2-4 students, allowing for individual attention.

Group 25 hours per week Program This program combines the Group 15 hours per week program with two additional hours per day of Spanish study. At the request of the student, these additional two hours of study may focus specifically on medical, legal or business vocabulary.

Admissions & Academic Credit

Students age 17 years and older are welcomed regardless of educational background, occupation or nationality. Students under the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult. No previous knowledge of Spanish is required except where otherwise indicated.

Students desiring credit for their study programs should contact their home school or request the NRCSA Credit Fact Sheet. Generally, U.S. universities consider 15 hours of study to be equal to 1 semester credit.
