Puerto de la Cruz
is located on the Canary Island of Tenerife. The island is the largest of the archipelago at 2,053 square kilometers with a large variety of plant life, black and gold beaches and an extensive chain of mountains. Tenerife is known as the island of eternal spring because of its peerless climate, but it is also full of huge climatic contrasts and biodiversity throughout its various regions. In the heart of the mountain chain lies a gigantic, natural crater called Las Caņadas del Teide which has been declared a national park. Puerto de la Cruz itself has excellent restaurants and cafes as well as libraries, museums and other cultural sites.
