NRCSA Center: Don Quijote - Puerto de la Cruz, Spain

About the NRCSA Center

Our School The study center was established in 1986 with the primary aim to teach Spanish as effectively and pleasantly as possible to students from all over the world. Students come from all over Europe and countries such as the United States, Russia, Canada, and Japan. Ages vary greatly, from 18 to 83, and 30% of all students come to the school with no Spanish language knowledge at all.

The school has a central meeting area, a living room for reading and watching TV, and self-study facilities with computers, e-mail and internet access and a wide variety of books. Teachers are native speakers with wide experience in teaching their language to foreigners and have university degrees. The school pays for their teachers to take foreign language classes abroad so they gain a better understanding of how their own students feel. Teachers are selected on their ability to listen, their friendliness, enthusiasm and patience, but most of all for their love of teaching.

About Puerto de la Cruz

Puerto de la Cruz is located on the Canary Island of Tenerife. The island is the largest of the archipelago at 2,053 square kilometers with a large variety of plant life, black and gold beaches and an extensive chain of mountains. Tenerife is known as the island of eternal spring because of its peerless climate, but it is also full of huge climatic contrasts and biodiversity throughout its various regions. In the heart of the mountain chain lies a gigantic, natural crater called Las Caņadas del Teide which has been declared a national park. Puerto de la Cruz itself has excellent restaurants and cafes as well as libraries, museums and other cultural sites.

The school is moments from the beaches and recreational sites of Puerto de la Cruz.
